Location

The barn is situated in the tiny hamlet of Westham, just 2.5 miles outside the historic village of Wedmore.  This attractive village has a range of specialist shops and a selection of restaurants and pubs.

Other nearby towns include Glastonbury (8 miles) famous for its history centred around the Abbey and Tor and in recent times for the Glastonbury Music Festival and the alternative community of artisans and healers.  It is a great place to visit with a variety of independent shops and restaurants.

Cheddar (8 miles) famous for its spectacular gorge, the labyrinth of caves and of course the cheese.

Wells (10miles) the smallest city in England has a spectacular cathedral and bishops palace.

Street (10 miles) made famous by the shoe-making firm of C&J Clark, the town now boasts the first purpose built factory shopping centre in the UK, offering top quality branded goods at discount prices.

Weston-super-Mare (12 miles) a lively seaside resort with its recently rebuilt Grand Pier and the famous donkeys on the beach.

Golf Clubs

Yew Tree Barn is a great base for golf enthusiasts with seven golf clubs within a 15 mile radius.  The Isle of Wedmore Golf Club is just 3 miles away and the Championship Links at Burnham & Berrow is 9 miles.

The Levels

Other local attractions include the nature reserves of Westhay, Shapwick Heath & Ham Wall (5 miles) famous for their ‘dancing’ starlings and a huge collection of bird species.  The area is also ideal for cycling and walking.
